Eddie Wenrich says enough is enough and it’s time for a change in the Commonwealth’s 29th senatorial district.

The former AT&T store manager is announcing that he is a candidate for the Republican nomination for the 29th Senate District seat presently held by Sen. David Argall.

“He’s a career politician,” he said. “I’m an outsider. I’m not a politician. I’m not corrupted by the politics.”

The 39-year-old Schuylkill Haven resident said that he thinks that it is time to retire Argall, who has served in the General Assembly for almost 40 years, starting in the state House in 1985 before joining the other chamber in 2010.

“For far too long, politicians in Harrisburg, including Senator Argall, have prioritized special interest groups, big pharma, major banks, and Wall Street over the people,” he says on his website. “I refuse to tolerate this any longer. My unwavering commitment is to represent the citizens of our Commonwealth, not lobbyists.”

Wenrich stands strong for 2nd Amendment rights, saying “prohibitions on firearms and the establishment of gun-free zones are in violation of the Constitution.”

He wants to trim the fat in Harrisburg, while ensuring that parents have the greatest influence over the health and education decisions of their children.

Wenrich told Ballotpedia in 2022 that the areas of public policy that he is passionate about are taxes, including gas, property and school, and a complete overhaul of nursing facilities and retirement homes.

“For far too long, the elected officials in Harrisburg have deceived the people,” he says about his ‘Pennsylvania Success Initiative.’ “They claim to be your servants, yet they primarily serve their own interests, driven by an insatiable desire for re-election. Their hunger for power overshadows their responsibility to govern.

“My objective is straightforward: bring high-paying jobs back to our coal regions and bolster the entire state. You should have the option for a balanced work-home life, and if you aspire to a well-paying job, you should have the opportunity to pursue it.”

Argall, 64, has not had a general election opponent since 2012, defeating Tim Seip, 53-46.

The 29th Senatorial District consists of Carbon, Schuylkill and part of Luzerne County, including the city of Hazleton.
