A new Republican poll of Lehigh Valley likely voters shows both the presidential and congressional races to be within the margin of error with less than 100 days remaining.
The Tarrance Group from Alexandria, Va. surveyed 404 likely voters in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District and found former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris separated by two percentage points with a margin of +/-4.9. Trump received 48 percent support, while Harris polled at 46 percent in the survey co-commissioned by the National Republican Campaign Committee and GOP candidate Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh).
The same poll found that Mackenzie and incumbent Democrat Susan Wild are also within the margin of error. Wild, who has served the region in Washington for three terms, polled at 47 percent, while Mackenzie, a ninth-generation Lehigh Valley native, drew 45 percent support with eight percent undecided.
“The results from the survey indicate there is still room for Mackenzie to grow his support among those voting for Donald Trump at the top of the ticket,” the pollsters wrote in the polling summary.
