This is to let you know that PoliticsPA is going to take the weekend off and celebrate Memorial Day with family and friends, while not losing sight of the reason for the holiday.
We pause and remember those who served our country and gave their lives protecting our freedoms. As President Abraham Lincoln said, these heroes gave their last full measure of devotion.
Let us use this Memorial Day to honor the fallen by striving to be better neighbors and aspiring to our better angels. It is time to again show the world that we are greater than the sum of our differences.
We thank their families and we honor them.
We also recognize that the oldest (and first) Memorial Day parade in the country was held in 1867 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
Should there be late-breaking news on politics in Pennsylvania, you will be able to read about it via our Twitter feed @PoliticsPA
And coming next week, a new, improved and upgraded website experience will be coming your way.
We appreciate you – our readers – and wish you and safe, happy and healthy holiday.

Happy Memorial Day!
I’m not a fan of the new website design, because everything is spaced farther apart. The old website was completely fine.
