Update: Could Be A Longer Night Than Expected

Although some counties have successfully completed the pre-canvassing of absentee and no-excuse mail-in ballots, others have partially completed or even set them aside until Wednesday, bringing into question whether all races will be called tonight.

PoliticsPA has learned that nearly 55,000 vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots in just four counties will not be reviewed until Wednesday. Lancaster County had a ballot printing issue that caused 14,000 VBM to be unable to be optically scanned for tabulation. Luzerne County has 11,000 ballots that has been put aside until tomorrow, while Mercer County has nearly 5,000 VBM ballots that will be opened and scanned in the morning.

Philadelphia County has tallied over 47,000 VBM ballots but has more than 25,000 to complete as well. Lehigh County is hopeful to complete its 19,000 VBM ballots by midnight, while Delaware County is unsure if it will complete its task tonight.

Some counties have completed the task, including Allegheny (90,000), York (19,000) and Centre (8,000) to name three.
