Voit Enters Race For LG

Republican businessman Otto Voit, who ran for Treasurer in 2016, is entering the race for Lieutenant Governor in 2018.

“I’m in! I am running for Lt. Governor for one simple reason: Pennsylvania is losing right now,” Voit wrote on his Facebook page.

Voit ran for Treasurer in 2016 before losing in the general election to Democrat Joe Torsella.

During the 2016 campaign, Voit spoke often at events for now-President Trump and Vice President Pence in Pennsylvania.

“Our working families are working harder and earning less, our small businesses are struggling, and our students are buried in debt. It doesn’t have to be this way,” Voit said.

Voit joins Jeff Bartos and former state Rep. Gordon Denlinger (R-Lancaster) in the race.

Update: PoliticsPA talked with Voit about his run for Lieutenant Governor today.

“I am running because I don’t have $10 million in the bank to run for Governor.  I want to bring leadership to Pennsylvania where none currently exists,” Voit said.

“I have traveled all 67 counties and met terrific people, and all of them have said they want a government that works, is lean, and is efficient.”

  1. there could be a small chance for otto will be a great lieutenant governor in 2018 because for he will create new jobs and bring them to Pennsylvania, and is to put Pennsylvania back into the right track.

  2. It’s Stack all the way for me. Stack is a dandy fellow and a great LG. Let’s Back Stack!

  3. I have been a registered Republican for 47 years. Any person that supports a person that finds good people in white nationalists or the kkk, and in Alabama supports a child molester should not be in public office. So please otto voit crawl back into your hole.

  4. There is no race this guy won’t run for and there is no race this guy won’t lose. He just likes when people talk about him. He doesn’t have anything else really going on and really, is a pretty big loser.

  5. Good choice Otto Voit is to run for Lieutenant Governor in 2018 but which Republican Governor Candidate might take Otto Voit as a running mate in 2018.

    1. Contrary to what people might think… Govenor and Lt. G fo not as a team. The racer are completely independent of one another. There is No Govemor tuning mate.

  6. No surer sign of a loser than when the word “perennial” gets inserted in front of “candidate.” Running every year is a great way to ensure this happens.

  7. “I am running because I don’t have $10 million in the bank to run for Governor.” Now that’s a platform for ya.

    1. Coming off of a decisive defeat in a year when Trump and Toomey won, too. Talk about momentum!

Glad to see he found out that terrific people in all 67 counties want exactly what the current governor campaigned on.

      1. That one quote sounded very much like Bernie Sanders speaking, but I thought I just heard “45” say everything is fine and never has been better. So what is “fake news”, politics or the usual BS??

Otto, run for Berks County Commissioner, one of the Republicans in the majority just voted for a tax increase

        1. Otto, I read your announcement in the Reading Eagle and you were quoted as saying that nothing is getting done because the Gov. and Lt. Gov. are at odds. Really? Are you kidding?
