Zappala Starts 2016 with $500K COH

Stephen-ZappalaAllegheny County District Attorney and Democratic candidate for Attorney General Stephen Zappala posted his first fundraising report of the election.

Since Zappala jumped into the race in mid-December, the numbers are only for December 15th to 31st.

Zappala raised $501,900 over that time with just $1,531.90 in debt. A massive $340,050 was transferred over from Zappala’s own campaign coffers. His uncle Charles also gave $25,000.

Most of the Zappala campaign’s donations came from the following labor union PACs: International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 ($25,000); Steamfitters Local 449 ($25,000); Carpenters Legislative Program of Greater Pennsylvania ($25,000); Plumbers Local Union 27 ($15,000); Western Pennsylvania Laborers’ Political Action Fund ($10,000); and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 5 ($5,000).

Zappala is running against Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro and Northampton County DA John Morganelli in the Democratic primary. Embattled incumbent Kathleen Kane is also saying she’ll seek re-election.

  1. What’s that Sranton Suck Boy? Did you mention Frank Fina? The Appeals Court in the Penn State case just found that the conduct of Frank Fina was “highly improper.” Are you talking about that Frank Fina? He’s the one that used his State computer to send this to his white male buddies:

Then, when buddies Corbett and Ryan failed in their attempt to destroy the e-mails like the one above (and all the other Hate-gate e-mails), he went on the attack with his smear campaign against the prosecutor who had the goods on him (AG Kane).

  2. Yo Vito: I have been a member of my local I.S.D.A. For over twenty years and I have been waiting for the Bazzano-Zappala-Porter mafia to parade the usual indignant Italians in their defense, just as they did when the old man ran for the Supreme Court. Not this time, my goombad. They don’t represent me and probably not you either. If we allow them to wrap themselves in the red, white and green, then we are willing chooches who deserve no better.

  3. @rollo, your ethnic remarks are getting real old buddy, get out of the basement, and get a life.

  4. Wait, what: Did you count your fingers? Still have your wedding and class rings? How about your wallet and watch? Here’s an insiders tip…he ain’t no nice guy. Like father, uncles and cousin, gangster Chuckie Porter, they don’t see people, they see votes. We are a commodity that they will buy, sell or steal to get what they want. The next time you see Sonny Corleone, it would be good form to just wave, especially if it’s with only one finger.

  5. @no much. Zappala has been in Philadelphia twice. In fact I met him. Seems like a nice guy.

  6. $161,850.total raised??? Besides Steve’s Dad putting pressure on “old Friends” I don’t think anyone even cares or knows Steve.
We have two candidates running on their parents names and old friendships. Steve and Albert needs to try and stand on their own two feet. Albert tells everyone his Mom from the grave told him to run (to bad she didn’t tell him to live in Pa) and Steve Dad is putting pressure and calling in favors to get everyone to support his son.. Steve hasn’t left Pittsburgh. 67 Counties. Not just one.
Advise Albert run in the state you live in. Steve either you run or let your Dad run.

  7. “Won’t ya let me take ya on a shakedown cruise?” ew-wee, ew-wee, baby, the investment-extraction arm of the Bazzano-Zappala-Porter mafia is digging into the usual pockets.
