Vice President Joe Biden will campaign next month in the Lehigh Valley for Democratic congressional candidate John Callahan, his campaign said Wednesday.

The former U.S. Senator from Delaware will make a stop April 15 at a still-undetermined location for the Bethlehem mayor, who will likely face Republican U.S. Rep. Charlie Dent in the general election contest.

The vice president’s involvement is another indication the Democrats thinks Callahan is one of their best chances to win back a seat in Congress next year in an election cycle that’s likely to favor the GOP.
