Business Group Names Saylor ‘Guardian of Small Business’

HARRISBURG ― Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York) has been named a “Guardian of Small Business” by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), in recognition of his voting record on behalf of Pennsylvania’s small business owners in the 2009-10 legislative session. The Guardian of Small Business Award is given to lawmakers who voted favorably on key small business issues during the current session.

“I want to thank NFIB for this honor,” Saylor said. “As a former small businessman, I understand the challenges facing Pennsylvania’s small business community and I consider their concerns every time I vote on an issue impacting small businesses.”

Saylor added that his long-standing commitment to Pennsylvania’s small businesses will continue as Pennsylvania and the nation work to overcome some of the worst economic conditions in generations.

“Small businesses are the backbone of Pennsylvania’s economy,” said Saylor. “They provide many of the jobs in our Commonwealth, and if we are going to make it through these very difficult economic times and start creating jobs again, it will be because the policies we enact as lawmakers make small businesses feel comfortable hiring again.”
