Does Joe Sestak Agree with Jason Altmire about Firing Nancy Pelosi?

Allentown – Today, Democratic Representative Jason Altmire (PA-04) called for firing liberal Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.  Does Congressman Joe Sestak agree?

According to Roll Call: “In the latest sign that some moderate Democratic incumbents want Nancy Pelosi’s speakership to come to an end, Pennsylvania Rep. Jason Altmire said the dynamics of the next Congress would ‘certainly necessitate new leadership in the Speaker’s position . . . I hope that she is not a candidate for Speaker,’ he said.  ‘I don’t think the issues that she’s pursued are good for the district I represent.’

In a demonstration of his extreme liberal record, Congressman Joe Sestak voted with Nancy Pelosi 97% of the time over his congressional career and 100% of the time in 2009 (Congressional Quarterly).  Does Congressman Sestak recognize that his voting record is far outside the Pennsylvania mainstream and does he agree with Rep. Altmire that it is time for new leadership in Washington?

“Democrats all around the country are recognizing that Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda is too extreme and not conducive to achieving the economic recovery we need,” Toomey Communications Director Nachama Soloveichik said.  “The question is whether Congressman Sestak is willing to admit that his voting in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi’s liberal agenda is the wrong path for Pennsylvania or whether he will stubbornly cling to his extreme agenda?  Will Congressman Sestak join Rep. Altmire and other Democrats in calling for a new Speaker of the House?”
