Grove Announces He Will Not Seek Reelection

Seth Grove

State Rep. Seth Grove (R-York) announced on Friday that he will not run for reelection in the 196th Legislative District.

“While this opportunity bestowed upon me 17 years ago has been one of the greatest honors of my life, it is time to step aside and close this chapter,” said Grove in a Facebook video. “I will not be seeking reelection in 2026.”

The York County Republican was first elected in 2008 and has served nine terms in Harrisburg. He says he has introduced over 350 bills during his time in the legislature with 22 signed into law.

During his time as a legislator, Grove chaired four key committees including Labor and Industry, Appropriations, State Government and Government Oversight.

“So, with an accomplished heart from your humble public servant, thank you all again for your trust and for giving this kid from Spring Grove, the son of a tool-and-die maker and stay-at-home mom, such a rare opportunity… Now, let’s get back to work,” Rep. Grove added.

The 196th District includes 10 York County boroughs and townships, including Spring Grove Borough and West Manchester Township.

“To whoever the voters choose next year, I will leave you with these three points of advice. First, tell your constituents the truth. Second, be a workhorse, not a show horse. Third and last, after a hard day’s work, go home and take care of your family. This is especially true for those days you’ll be in Harrisburg. I look forward to serving these last 19 months in office on your behalf.”
