Welch, who was recruited in 2010 to run for Congress in the Sixth District as incumbent Rep. Jim Gerlach mulled a gubernatorial campaign, met this week with officials from the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Politico’s David Catanese reported.

Rep. Marino Spearheading Effort To Get Freshman Representation On The Congressional Deficit Committee
Rep. Tom Marino (R-10) is spearheading an effort to have a freshman named to the “supercommittee”, the congressional committee that will be in charge of drafting spending cuts. The committee was created as part of the bipartisan agreement reached to raise the debt ceiling.
