Commerce Secretary Locke Travels to Lower Merion to Urge Action to Elect Manan Trivedi

At a luncheon in Bala Cynwyd, Secretary Locke Lays Out the Path to a Better Economy and the Need for Manan Trivedi

BALA CYNWYD, Pa. – With only eight days left until Election Day, the Obama administration is putting their weight behind Manan Trivedi’s campaign for Congress. Gary Locke, the Secretary of Commerce, came to Lower Merion today to explain why it is so crucial to the economy and the nation that we elect Trivedi to be the next representative from Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District.

“Manan Trivedi is the congressman we need,” said Secretary Locke to the crowd in Lower Merion, “the person you all know so well, the person who knows the problems of returning soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan, who’s been a practicing physician not just for the troops but here in the community. The person who has been listening to this district and knows all of you and the struggles and dreams and aspirations that you have.

“We need more people like him in the United States Congress. Thoughtful people, people who know that there are no easy answers but really are willing to work hard to solve them and provide for the people of America and your district.”

Trivedi thanked Secretary Locke for coming to the 6th District. In the attached photo, Trivedi, standing with Secretary Locke, rallied the supporters with a reminder of how crucial the next 8 days are, and why we need to elect new people to Washington.

“The momentum is with us and we are rapidly closing the gap,” Trivedi said. “This election, much like the American spirit, is about hard work, and dedication, and the merits. Well you know I’ve been dedicated to listening to you and your frustrations with Washington, you know we’re on the right side of the issues, and now all we need is the hard work. If we knock on more doors, put up more yard signs, and make more phone calls than my opponent, we will win hands down. We can’t change Washington until we change who we send down there, and we can’t change who we send down there without you.”

Later that day, Trivedi returned to his field office in Lower Merion to make phone calls to voters in the 6th District to remind them to vote on Tuesday, November 2. The Ardmore office is located at 14 W Lancaster Ave.
