Congressman Gerlach — Washington Dollars to Do It the Washington Way

To Shore Up the Congressman’s Faltering Campaign, Those Who Would Benefit the Most Are Kicking in Hundreds of Thousands

ELVERSON, Pa – In recent weeks the congressional campaign of Jim Gerlach has been misleading the press and the public with a display of overconfidence in their chances to win re-election.  A clear indication that Jim Gerlach’s campaign is in trouble is evidenced by the outpouring of Washington money being spent by organizations and special interests in attempt to keep him in office and keep his votes in their back pocket.

Currently, a political action committee (PAC) supporting the interest of Washington lobbying efforts by the Realtors are spending over $390,000 on television ads throughout the 6th District and Southeastern PA. This is on top of the tens of thousands of dollars that the political arm of congressional Republicans has already unloaded to attempt to protect this weak incumbent.
“It is obvious that Congressman Gerlach operates under a transactional form of government,” said Democratic challenger Manan Trivedi.   “His record proves he is listening only to the folks in Washington, and they are rewarding him by spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to help his campaign.  The voters here at home now know the truth about Jim Gerlach: He went to Washington.  He did things their way.  And now the Washington insiders are shoveling money at his campaign to help him cross the finish line.”
