Forward Party To Announce Attorney General, State Treasurer Candidates Tuesday

The Pennsylvania Forward Party has a big day scheduled for Tuesday with events around the Commonwealth to introduce its candidates for Attorney General and State Treasurer.

The day will kick-off in Pittsburgh with a 9:30 a.m. program at the Thomas J. Gallagher Overlook in Pittsburgh. Thirty minutes later, a second event will get underway at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The groups will then trek to Harrisburg and the Capitol Rotunda for a 2:30 rally with CEO Lindsey Williams Drath and Co-Chairs Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman.

According to its website, the Forward Party wants to empower leaders to find solutions that work in their communities, rather than dictate a rigid, top-down policy platform and expect it to work for all Americans.

The Forward Party advocates for the election of independent candidates to these offices to ensure that critical decisions remain untainted by partisan influence. And by supporting local candidates, it hopes to bring attention to the importance of down ballot races.

While the party realizes that winning either of the 2024 races will be an uphill battle, the hope is that the Forward Party candidate can get 2% of the total vote count. Reaching that threshold would enable the party to earn official “minor party” status in the Commonwealth.
