PA GOP: Why Is Congresswoman Dahlkemper Hiding?
Dahlkemper Refuses To Hold Town Hall Meeting During August Recess
HARRISBURG– Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Rob Gleason questioned why Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper avoided having any town hall meetings during the August recess, traditionally a time reserved for members of Congress to meet with their constituents.
“At a time when people are demanding openness and transparency from their government, Kathy Dahlkemper is closing her door,” Gleason said. “It’s not surprising considering that Congresswoman Dahlkemper’s voting record is so out-of-touch with her constituents, especially when she avoids holding forums with them to listen to their opinions and thoughts on the critical issues facing the 3rd Congressional District and our nation. Whether it was supporting a wasteful stimulus package or government-run taxpayer-funded health care, Congressman Dahlkemper has a proven track record of voting against the best interests of the 3rd Congressional District. Kathy Dahlkemper should listen to the people of the 3rd Congressional District and have the courage to explain her extreme liberal voting record to her constituents.
“Dahlkemper’s refusal to hold town hall meetings with her constituents confirms that she will continue taking Nancy Pelosi’s advice, not her constituents, on the important issues facing the 3rd Congressional District.”
