Rick Santorum hasn’t endorsed Mitt Romney yet, but one of his top PA backers has. The Romney camp rolled out the support of Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne) Monday afternoon.
Barletta and neighboring Rep. Tom Marino (R-Lycoming) were Santorum’s only two congressional endorsements in PA.
“Mitt Romney has a bold vision to create more jobs, reduce spending, and get our country back on track. He also has a proven record of leadership in business, the Olympics, and leading the state of Massachusetts,” Barletta said in a Romney campaign statement. “Mitt is the candidate we need to defeat President Obama and restore economic security for the middle class. I am proud to stand with him.”
“I’m proud to have Lou’s support,” said Romney. “Lou is a tireless advocate for scaling back the growth of government and creating middle class jobs through a pro-growth agenda. Pennsylvania voters have been hit hard by President Obama’s failed economic policies. In the months to come, Lou’s support will be crucial as we hold President Obama accountable for his broken promises.”
