Mastriano, DeSantis “Unite and Win” Rally in Pittsburgh

Ron DeSantis - Doug Mastriano

Pennsylvania Republican candidate for governor Doug Mastriano welcomes Florida governor Ron DeSantis to Pittsburgh this afternoon for a “Unite And Win” rally at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh at 4:30 p.m.

Mastriano, the state senator from Franklin County, said that the Floridian reached out to his campaign about coming together for a rally in the Steel City. Both Mastriano and DeSantis are expected to speak at the event.

The rally has sparked controversy amongst members of the Jewish community in both the Pittsburgh area and the state of Florida.

He’s “bringing the wrong message to the wrong place,” said Jewish community leader Meryl Ainsman in a Wednesday press conference.

The Florida Democratic Party Jewish caucus is urging the Florida Republican Jewish Coalition to call for an end to DeSantis’ campaign efforts for Mastriano, as well as “condemn Mastriano for his support and endorsement of antisemitic hate groups and their leaders such as Gab CEO, Andrew Torba.”

Other religious leaders in the Pittsburgh area spoke out against the visit as well.

Mastriano and DeSantis’ ideology is “a direct threat to the American Islamic community,” said Brother Mizanoor Biswas of the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh.

Sam DeMarco, chair of the Republican Committee of Allegheny County, said the visit will bring much needed visibility to Mastriano’s campaign, and will allow the senator to tell voters he’d do many of the same things DeSantis has done in Florida, “which is getting government off the backs of the people.”

Mastriano’s campaign is holding a fundraiser before the event at an undisclosed location, featuring DeSantis as a special guest. A photo opp will cost individuals $10,000, according to an invitation for the event. Admission for donors is $2,500.

DeSantis will head to Ohio to stump for Republican senate candidate J.D. Vance after his stop in Pittsburgh.

  1. Unite and Win
Translation: Unite the Right –> Unite the White Christian Natonalists

Appealing to one side of those “good people on both sides” –> the people shouting “Jews will not replace us” and other racist crap

  2. When you go to vote in November think about how the woke left are doing nothing to fight inflation, lower gas prices, and how they have branded parents taking an interest in their children’s education as domestic terrorists. I hope to see some big changes in Pennsylvania.

  3. DeathSantis is on his “Hey look at me, a mini-Trump who will not be in jail in 2024” tour. What he brings to Dung Mastriano is more stupid shit.
