With three vacancies in the Pennsylvania State House, the open seats for HD 32 (late Tony DeLuca), HD 34 (new U.S. Congresswoman Summer Lee), and HD 35 (new lieutenant governor Austin Davis) will require special elections.
Democrats won control of the chamber by a 102-101 vote, but Democrats will seat just 99 members due to the trio of openings.
Our question – when should special elections be held to fill the open seats?

Holding them on the May Primary saves hundreds of thousands of dollars. The offices in those districts from the old members are still there to help constituents. Any other answer is purely for political purposes.
My vote for April 2023 was premised on PA maybe having some other elections then, so it would be more cost effective. If not the case, then March 2023 is my choice. The sooner the better, so that citizens have representation.
