Redistricting Preliminary Plan

One Response

  1. Move over Chester County! Here comes Delaware County!

Under the preliminary plan, Representative Barrar (R-160), a Delaware County Republican, will be reaching way into Chester County to represent parts of East Bradford Township and part of the Borough of West Chester, neither of which has any border with Delaware County. West Chester is the County Seat of Chester County, but suddenly it’s annexed to Delaware County! And now the one square mile Borough is in two separare house districts! Before we know it Delaware County will have taken over all of Chester County! Why was this done you ask? To syphon off the Democratic vote in West Chester and drown Democrats in the highly Republican 160! Of course, it has the added advantage of shoring up Representative Truitt’s (R-156)chance of re-election. I had previously heard of gerrymandering. Now, I’ve seen it in action! Way to go, Republicans!
