Rep. Torren Ecker Crashes Car; Alcohol Suspected

Rep. Torren Ecker

Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) is under investigation for suspected driving under the influence after a car crash Tuesday night.

Pennsylvania State Police report that Ecker, 37, crashed a 2020 Honda Accord into a guide rail on the 7900 block of Carlisle Pike (Route 94) in Huntington Township in Adams County.

Ecker, who was a key proponent in the Republican effort to remove Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner from office, was driving south at 11:48 p.m. when the Honda drifted into the guide rail, causing the car to become disabled.

“Alcohol was a factor in this crash. Investigation continues,” the state police said in the report, which was released Wednesday.

The 37-year-old Ecker, who represents the 193rd District, said, “Most importantly, I am relieved that my lack of judgment did not result in any injury to others or myself. I take responsibility for my actions. To my family, constituents, and colleagues, I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible behavior and ask for your forgiveness.

“As this process moves forward, I will accept accountability and seek to restore the trust so many have put in me.”

The state police on Thursday said the results of a blood test are pending and could take several weeks to complete.

  1. Look, it’s simple – YOU MUST RESIGN. You won’t though. THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

  2. You accept responsibility and the consequences of your actions? Good, resign. Its easy to say you accept it, actually being held accountable is different. Looks like a dork with that bow tie anyways.

    1. For real. I was molesting people for years and it only caught up to me now!

  3. Drunk GOP are nothing new. Wait for Gym Jordan to subpoena the crime lab technicians who find DUI levels in this guy’s blood.
