It is a star studded final week of campaigning in Pa. with the President, Vice-President, former President Clinton and cabinet official criss-crossing the commonwealth. The U.S. Senate race and Governor’s race is still very much up in the air and many of the Congressional races are going to be a close race to the finish as well. Good Monday morning and welcome to the Buzz, where we have you covered in these final days of the campaign.
This week in Up & Down, Joe Sestak probably had the best week of his campaign, Gov. Rendell had a gaffe and a legislative loss and Bryan Lentz took a huge political risk in a tight campaign. In addition, Dan Onorato is not going down without a tough fight and Mayor Ravenstahl had a tough week.
The ad is correct that Toomey supports a type of privatization – in fact, he’s been quite open about it – but that privatization proposal is limited and optional. The Toomey plan also wouldn’t directly affect today’s seniors, and it may or may not affect any of today’s seniors who are still alive years down the road. This clashes with the ad’s visuals, which seem directly targeted at older voters, not younger ones.
