Shapiro Leading the Dems’ AG Money Race

Josh ShapiroWhile Stephen Zappala’s campaign for Attorney General was pleased to announce he has over $1 million in cash on hand, Josh Shapiro crushed the Allegheny County DA in the first fundraising cycle of 2016.

Shapiro brought in $2,005,135 from Jan. 1st to Mar. 7th and spent almost $200K during that period. Shapiro’s massive haul in his campaign’s first financial report was thanks, in large part, to his 2015 campaign for Montgomery County commissioner – which kicked in over $1.2 million.

Zappala’s campaign posted solid numbers for the first cycle, raising more than $611K. Zappala now has $1,005,390 in cash and spent almost $108K in the first 10 weeks of the year – though he does have almost $250K in outstanding debts and obligations.

“Our fundraising kept pace with that of our nearest competitor, who had nearly $1.5 million banked even before his campaign started and who has, regrettably, been using his position as an elected official to raise thousands of dollars from vendors and contractors dependent on his vote to do business,” Zappala campaign manager Marty Marks said.

Northampton County DA John Morganelli is now sitting on $607K after bringing in $118,290 in the first cycle of 2016. Morganelli seems to be saving for the final push, spending just over $23K.

  1. Morganelli has said that he will shut down the Hate-gate investigation. He lost my vote when he said that. He is an “ol boy.”

  2. Be prepared to watch Northampton County DA John Morganelli spend every dine he has to go after Shapiro. His entire campaign has been hurt Shapiro so his buddy Zipplala can win. The gagsters are in need of the power of the office. Morganelli’s arm was twisted to stay in the race.

  3. Yeah … Seriously! … I am indicating that the Porn-gate scandal involved “sexual images of children.” Yes – that is what I am indicating. And many of the Perv Apologists have come here to call them “innocent.” Well – I don’t think a picture of a little boy forced to pose looking down a little girl’s underwear is “innocent.”

How do you know the FBI is not a part of this investigation? Do you think they put billboards up when they become “a part” of an investigation?

Here’s an e-mail that Frank Fina sent to his white male buddies:

How friggin’ racist is Fina? We know for certain that the Superior Court just labeled his conduct “highly improper.”

  4. HaHaHa – you do realize that having sexual images of children on your computer is a federal crime don’t you? If you are indicating someone from the porngate crowd sent emails of this nature, I’m sure the FBI would have been part of the investigation

  5. Zappala report:
Zappala paid himself $7,772.49 for costs
Zappala Family gave/loaned $260,500.00 to the race.
    Zappala unpaid debts $246,300.00
    What a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. LT. Governor loaned Zappala money to put him over the one million. Even Stack has no faith or trust in the race. $21,300.00 Loan. LOL

Thanks Uncle Charlie for the Cash for Kids money. Sorry kids, your life was hell. But I needed money!

  7. zappala’ “million” includes a $200 K loan from the Bazzano-Zappala-Porter mafia’s LaFamilia Trust. It ain’t goin’ anywhere except back to the mob, plus whatever else they can steal. This isn’t about a political campaign, it’s just more tribal fund raising.

  8. Big issue to me — How do we make sure that the new AG does not hire and promote people (like Frank Fina and Granahan) who will use their State computers to view and distribute videos/pictures that depict:

    – bestiality

    – graphic violence against women

    – sexual images of children

    – material making fun of minorities

    – a woman having “sex” with a snake

    – a 100 year-old woman engaged in intercourse

    – a man opening a champagne bottle and shoving it in a woman’s vagina

  9. Zappala’s report was totally pathetic – he loaned himself $200K on the last day to make it look like he can compete with Shaprio. That $1M won’t go very far.

  10. Strong arming vendors in Montco would be a bad plan, since after the McCord fiasco, it’s a near 100% certainty that Josh’s phones would be tapped by the FBI as part of full investigation into Montco officials.
