President Donald Trump made another stop in the Harrisburg area last night for an invitation only event. Tickets for the event had been distributed through county Republican parties.
The event was slated to be a pitch by Trump for his tax reform plan.
“Our framework ensures that the benefits of tax reform go to the middle class, not to the highest earners. It’s a middle-class bill. That’s’ what we’re thinking of…That’s’ what I want,” Trump said according to the Patriot News.
Trump did not only address his tax plan during the speech though.

Trump did give Congressman and Senate candidate Lou Barletta (R-Luzerne) a shoutout during the speech.
“Lou Barletta is running for the Senate — he’s going to win. You’re going to win big, Lou,” Trump said.
Some of Pennsylvania’s Congressmen were able to catch a ride on Air Force One for the speech.

Not everyone in Pennsylvania was happy about the speech though. Senator Bob Casey put out a statement attacking Trump’s tax plan.
“Congressional Republicans are not pursuing tax reform, just a massive tax giveaway to the super-rich at the expense of the middle class. 80% of the Republican tax plan goes to the top 1% by 2027- that’s a bad deal for middle class families and workers. Under this plan, middle class families in Pennsylvania may see their taxes go up, through the elimination of deductions, while the wealthiest will get an annual $146,400 windfall,” Casey said in a statement.
