Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams’ legal troubles continue to mount. Federal prosecutors added a 29 count superseding indictment against Williams.
The charges stem from $10,000 of campaign donations prosecutors say was used for massages, dinners, among other personal expenses. Most of the expenses were spent at the Union League in Philadelphia.
Williams was already facing charges accepting bribes in the form of trips and goods from people looking for favorable treatment from the DAs office.
The new charges will add fuel to the calls for Williams to resign. Governor Tom Wolf called on Williams to resign last month. Williams has already stated he will not be running for re-election in the Democratic primary next week.
