10/2 Morning Buzz

Harrisburg Capitol stepsCorbett gets a new press secretary, a poll shows support for liquor privatization, and the federal shutdown enters its 2nd day. Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz.

Corbett Names New Press Secretary: Jay Pagni, who served in the Governor’s Budget Office, has been promoted to Press Secretary. Pagni is replacing Kevin Harley who resigned in August.

McGinty Demands More Funding for Hunger Program: Gubernatorial candidate Katie McGinty called for more funding for state hunger programs. Her message came in honor of September being Hunger Action Month.

Klink Rules Out Lt. Gov Bid: Former Congressman Ron Klink put an end to rumors that he is seeking a possible run for Lieutenant Governor.

CF/KP Poll: 61% Support Liquor Privatization: A poll commissioned by a conservative blog and a progressive blog found 61% of respondents support privatizing liquor sales. The poll was conducted by proponents of the measure, but they were open with their methodology.

Galloway Co-Sponsors LGBT Anti-Discrimination Bill…Again: One day after telling PoliticsPA he had problems with HB 300, Rep. Galloway announced he is signing back on as a co-sponsor. Apparently a talk with Rep. Sims made all the difference.
