PA-01 Poll: Fitzpatrick Leads Ehasz

In an internal poll conducted by Global Strategy Group, Republican incumbent Brian Fitzpatrick holds a seven-point lead over Democrat Ashley Ehasz in the 1st Congressional District race.

Fitzpatrick received 45 percent support among the 626 likely voters in the district, while Ehasz pulled in 38 percent with 18 percent remaining undecided. The poll was conducted on June 24-25.

Ehasz trailed by seven points with men (46-39) and women (43-36) and was just minus-2 among independents. According to a release associated with the findings, “After hearing a short statement on Fitzpatrick’s antichoice position, the race shifts 17 points toward Ehasz and propels her into a 10point lead. Fitzpatrick loses most of his support among Democrats and Ehasz opens up a big advantage over Fitzpatrick among women.”

“This just echoes the conversations I have had with people at rallies and knocking doors since Friday’s announcement, which is that when voters learn their Congressman had the opportunity to protect their right to an abortion and he refused to, they feel betrayed,” said Ehasz. “Fitzpatrick could have voted to codify Roe v. Wade, but instead he washed his hands of it, and sided with the most extreme members of his party. People feel abandoned, and rightly so.”

GSG has been described in the New York Times as a “a well-known Democratic consulting firm.”

  1. The Dem would be wise to run ad after ad linking Fitz and Roe. This could topple Fitz and he knows it!
