2/10 Morning Buzz

pa flagWe give a complete breakdown of the Democratic state committee meeting, Wolf and McGinty releases new videos and Wagner doesn’t rule out a run for Gov. Plus, last week’s Ups & Downs. Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz.

Dems Fall Short of Gov Endorsement: After a floor fight at the meeting – and an actual fight that nearly broke out hours before – the Democratic state committee did not endorse a candidate for governor.

Koplinski Breaks 50% for LG, Plus Other State Committee Scuttlebutt: Like the Governor’s race, the Lieutenant Governor’s race will not have an endorsed candidate.

State Committee: Will McCord Get His Vote?: It’s unlikely any of the Democrats for Governor have the 66% to achieve a state committee endorsement, but other candidates are hoping to block a roll call vote that would be a show of strength for the State Treasurer.

PA-Gov: Corbett Fundraising Like An Incumbent: The Governor brought in more cash than his last run and spending it on the some of the most noted firms in the state.

PA-Gov: Wagner Doesn’t Rule Out Run: The 2010 runner up for the Democratic nomination still refuses to rule out a run this year.

Wolf Airs Third TV Ad For Gov Run (With Video): Comes just a few days after his ad speaking out against Gov. Corbett.

2/7 Ups & Downs: Endorsements and a tiff between a candidate and the NRCC headline this week’s list. You may notice that campaign finance news is conspicuously missing; fret not, we’ll have fundraising winners and losers for you next week. In the meantime, see who made this week’s list.

Gov Candidates Woo State Committee Delegates in Forum: The now-7 candidates for governor participated in a forum sponsored by the Women’s Caucus.

Lt. Gov. Candidates Pitch Their Electability to Women’s Caucus: All six of the Democratic candidates for governor took the stage at PA Dems state committee.

PAGOP Announces Anti-Dem Website: “DTeam2014.com” roasts the Democratic candidates for governor with articles and videos.

McGinty Releases Web Video (With Video): In which she challenges Corbett to raise the minimum wage.

Heading into State Committee, Candidates Seek to Impress: Gov. candidates unveil endorsements before they travel to PA Dems State Committee today.

Mark Smith Nets Another Labor Union Endorsement: The Bradford County Commissioner receives his 14th endorsement from a state labor union.

Range Resources released a new ad in Western Pennsylvania, promoting the gas industry, but also saying that “Drilling is just the beginning,” and promises reduced dependence on foreign countries for our energy supply. The simplistic ad is played over the patriotic tune, “Over There,” which became famous during the United States’ entry into World War One.

  1. TOM CORBETT TEAM: YOU CAN KISS SIGNOR FERRARI’S PORPOISE! So now Tom Corbett the man who doesn’t know why he is Governor, (well perhaps to improve Acting Governor’s Brabender’s net worth) now is morphing into a compassionate conservative. Signor Ferrari, oh wise sage of Pennsylvania, do you buy this transformation of Tom Corbett? Signor Ferrari of Casablancapa.com does pictures of Tom Corbett remind you of puppies and warm summer days? http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20140209_Corbett_burnishing_a_kinder__ge
