Just one day after a Democratic Super PAC reserved airtime for Katie McGinty, a conservative Super PAC has just announced it reserved airtime for Sen. Pat Toomey.
This Super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund, was founded by former aides of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. It stands to fight the Democratic Super PAC, Senate Majority PAC, which is run by former staffers of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.
The Senate Leadership Fund reserved $6.2 million to run ads for 3 weeks in October. This was part of an overall ad buy totaling nearly $40 million by the PAC targeting other crucial Senate races across the nation.
Pennsylvania’s Senate race is crucial for determining the make-up of the next Senate. Currently, Republicans have a 54-46 advantage (counting 2 independents who caucus with the Democrats). Thus, Democrats will have to pick up 4 seats if Hillary Clinton also wins in November, or 5 seats if Donald Trump proves victorious.
Thus, there is a big focus on Pennsylvania’s race as neither party has much room to spare. Consequently, it is expected that PA will have one of the most expensive Senate races this year. All of this happens as the latest PPP poll has the race at an effective dead heat with Toomey leading by a single percentage point 40-39.

First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Appreciate it!

Toomey is toast. One-Term-Patty
The GOP will spend millions of dollars to get Toomey reelected. Toomey’s record in the Senate shows he supports Special Interedts 100% of the time and always votes against regular people every time. The crazy train aspect is Toomey will spend Special Interest millions of dollars to buy tv adds to lie and distort his terrible record of voting against these same people so they can reelect him. Toomey is firmly in the 1% hip pocket. Look at Toomey’ Senate record and vote the stooge out of office.
Even if he wins, the Ds still win by forcing the Rs to spend money to retain this seat, taking desperately needed, scarce resources from other races.

New money proves Toomey is outplaying McGinty in this race and putting on a clinic on effective campaigning. Toomey won’t be outspent and will buck the trend and win his seat for another 6 years. Ironically, the Senate will go Dem despite this PA loss. Andrea Mitchell, the highly respected journalist, called the McGinty candidacy weak and that along with the stumbling of McGinty on the first one in the family to go to college remark does not help when you are taking on the astute Toomey.
All the adds by Gloomey are the dumbest I’ve seen so far and it’s only June. Can’t wait for the rest of the year.
