Scarnati and Corman Endorse DiGiorgio for PA GOP Chair

val-digiorgioThe two highest-ranking State Senators are making their choice for the next PA GOP Chair known.

Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati and Senate Majority Leader Jake Corman released a joint letter today endorsing Val DiGiorgio as party chair.

“We would like you to know that we strongly endorse Val DiGiorgio in his bid to become Chairman,” they write. “We believe these talents and his other outstanding work as a county chairman clearly demonstrate that he will be a great steward for our state party.”

“We also believe that if Val is elected state Chairman, there is a real opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the state party,” the State Senators continue. “It would be extraordinarily productive for the Pennsylvania Republican Party and Senate Republican Campaign Committee to collaborate, improve and elevate our partnership in electing Republican candidates rather than working independently of each other. With Val, there is no doubt we will be a team unified to defeat Governor Wolf and the Democrats.”

“We know that Val has walked the walk,” they conclude. “We are confident that Val DiGiorgio will be an excellent Chairman who has unmatched grassroots, campaign, and fundraising experience as a candidate himself, campaign manager, and county chairman. Just as important, he as the vision to lead the Republican Party in a new and exciting direction. We hope you agree and support him at your Republican State Committee meeting this winter.”

This news comes a day after we learned the current Chairman Rob Gleason was officially stepping down. DiGiorgio, Chair of the Chester County Republican Party, has been putting his name out there since last year. He was also able to score the backing of Senator Pat Toomey.

The election for the position will take place at the party’s annual winter meeting in Hershey on Feb. 4th.

  1. When are Scarnati and Corman going to issue a statement on their new lapdog Langerholc reneging on his signed promise to not take a pension? Tea baggers up here in Trumpland are going crazy – they want the head of Lyin’ Langerholc.

  2. Grassroots, diversity outreach and proven fundraiser. He will always treat you with respect. Big supporter of Rafferty. Will never be too important to meet with you. Not ivory tower.

  3. Corruption at it’s finest here. Don’t fall into this trap committee people. Val is a scam artist…

  4. How critical to a Josh Shapiro run for governor is a friendly state GOP chair? It worked really well for Josh in Montco at the County level.

  5. Langerholc is in office one day and reneged on pension pledge. He lied to constituents. Shame on you Wayne!!!! Wayne is a fraud!!!

  6. More important news… Sen. Wayne Langerholc signed Leo Knepper’s Citizen Alliance of Pennsylvania to not take the pension and HE SIGN UP FOR IT. LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!!!!
