PA Sen: Toomey Raises Close to $500K in Q1
He’s still three years away until another possible run, but Sen. Pat Toomey’s fundraising remains at a consistent pace in the first quarter of 2019.
The GOP senator raised about $490,000 from the beginning of 2019 to the end of March. Toomey is now just shy of $3M raised in election cycle-to-date.
This quarter is on par with much of the previous year’s fundraising numbers. This filing is better than his two most recent reports that ended 2018, but trail his best quarter when he brought in over $550,000 in the July filing period last year.
Toomey entered the month of April with just under $1.6M cash on hand.
At this point in his first term, Toomey had raised more money in the election cycle-to-date and had more cash on hand.
In April 2013, Toomey had raised over $3.6M in the election cycle-to-date, while he carried just under $2.4M cash on hand into the beginning of that month.
No Democrat has officially announced their intentions for the seat, although a number of statewide elected Democrats are mulling their next runs, including Auditor General Eugene DePasquale who told PoliticsPA he’s open to running for Congress in PA-10 or a bid for Senate.
