  1. @ d2:

As has been amply proven over the years – particularly regarding former-AG-KK, noting additional revelations of her incompetence during this week’s impeachment hearings – your ability to perceive rectitude [and to differentiate knowledge from polemics] is deficient; this may be due to your incessant dissemination of disingenuous deceit @ PoliticsPA, but I suspect the pathology actually lies @ your core.

  2. Dante-

I met Cawley once (sat next to him at dinner at some event). He’s a nice enough fellow, but not very bright. I think his job as Lt. Gov was to make Corbett look smart.

  3. I am coming in defense of Jim Cawley. He is nice, good-hearted, family man. He has done great things as leuitenut governor of the state and I guarantee would have won re election if Tom Corbett was not on the ballot. He is a good politician, a good public servant, and a good man. There is no better option of anyone to face Tom Wolf and no one I trust with my state more than him.

  4. Jim Cawley is not divorced but I know nothing about him being a drunk. Since when did he have a drinking problem?

  5. I like Wagner, and expect Cawley would endorse him; nevertheless, in the interest of full-disclosure, note what I wrote elsewhere:

“Illustrative of his unique strengths is how he handled himself during a PA Leadership Conference event of ~2+ years ago; whereas Corbett delivered the Friday-p.m. Keynote [hiding in the hotel’s business-suite beforehand and splitting immediately after he had read his speech], Jim Cawley introduced the Saturday-Luncheon Speaker Michael Reagan and SPOKE WITH EVERYONE @ EVERY TABLE. In my case, when an extended-chat was desired [pleading my case to get him to displace Corbett], he asked that I await his completion of “rounds” and–true to form–provided ample time to chat [and provided his private e-mail address for f/u considerations].

“He presses-flesh, walks the talk, interacts via eye-contact, maintains candor, and smiles throughout; this mien was reinforced before the first mayoralty debate [that he’d sponsored], even as he was an active-listener throughout our discussion [of the late/great James Foster].”

  6. Isn’t this the guy who’s a drunk at the union league and Corbett’s main advisor?

    Great choice GOP!

  7. I just looked into the donations going into IBEW 98 from United Way. Isn’t Johnny Doc under FBI investigation??? This smells fishy?!!! Jimmy have you been a bad boy???? Jail tine!!!!! Jimmy and Doc

  8. Cawley has a bad background. Drinking and going through a bad divorce. I was a witness of a horrible verbal argument and will gladly go on record with 3 witness’s between him and his wife. Nasty and unprofessional for a person in his profession.

  9. I truly hope Cawley runs. I think he has the best hope of taking down Wolf due to his Southwest ties but he only has one chance. I predict he will wait it out and let Wagner run his course and then run in 2022.

  10. If Mike Kelly decides to run, does anyone know what might come of his US House seat? Would he decide to run for both? And if he vacated his seat, I wonder who the GOP would prop up in his place in ’18.

  11. Only one guy can win and I have the most money and the biggest ego. I’m chief Bozo. Vote for me PA. If you are stupid enough to go for Trump, then I’m a shoo-in. Which is different from shoo-fly pie. Viva los Nazis. Skinheads forever.

  12. Cawley would do well against Wolf and probably beaten wolf if he were the top of the ticket.

Wagner would lose by 10 points to wolf.

  13. PA Republicans are addicted to Wagner style fascism. Betting against Wagner at this point is wishful freakin’ thinking. He’ll be the nominee. The only question is how close the race with Wolf will be.

  14. Not to mention his ties to Johnny Doc and the money going through the United Way into IBEW 98 “apprenticeship” programs.

  15. Those cushy United Way type jobs don’t come around a third time. He’s got no shot.
