Clarification: Val is running for a seat in the House of Representatives. I should have said that yesterday’s Senate vote shows the dire need to make changes in Congress.
I have known Val since our days at Northwestern University. We knew she was destined for something big and it’s been wonderful watching her become the strong, intelligent leader she is today. During her recent tenure as president of the National Physicians Alliance, where she continues to serve on the board of directors, she has worked tirelessly for national health care reform. Pennsylvania, and the country, are in dire need of smart, caring, passionate leaders like Val, whose “day job” is as a professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. If Americans needed a wake-up call that we must clear house in the Senate, they got one with yesterday’s shameful vote against gun control. Please vote for Val!
As a midwife, I particularly appreciate Senator Leach’s support of women’s health care.

I know of Val since 2002 while working together in Drexel-Hahnemann university hospital. She is a leader, critical thinker, sincere, honost, and elegantly humble. Surely she would make a difference.
