10/10 Morning Buzz

PA-state-flag6Hillary campaigns for Wolf, Chaka Fattah’s records come under scrutiny and the GOP tries to tie Wolf to President Obama and ex-Mayor Bloomberg. Good morning politicos, here’s the Buzz!

PA-Gov: Hillary Clinton Stumps for Tom Wolf: The former Secretary of State was the featured speaker of the “Women for Wolf” event.

Chaka Fattah’s Tax Records Show Money Given to Associates: The congressman is coming under fire for his taxpayer-funded nonprofits.

PA-Gov: Wolf Compared to Bloomberg, Obama in Critical GOP Mailer: The latest Republican mail piece uses strong language to denounce Tom Wolf’s stand on gun control.

PA-10: Marino’s Press Secretary Returns to Work After Gun Incident: Ryan Shucard had been on unpaid leave since the incident in July.

PA-6: 314 PAC Endorses Trivedi: Shaughnessy Naughton’s 314 PAC supports candidates with scientific and technical backgrounds.

Legislative Elections Update:

HD-163: The campaign of Democratic nominee Vince Rongione is accusing Republican Jamie Santora of using tax money to send campaign mailers.

The piece of mail was advertising open houses that the Comprehensive Planning Committee which he chairs was holding. The literature went out after Santora had sent out two pieces of campaign mail and was briefly posted on his campaign’s Facebook page before it was deleted.

“If Jamie Santora were a State Representative and pulled this stunt, he would be kicked out of the office,” said Rongione Campaign Manager Will Sharry. “This a complete abuse of taxpayers dollars for blatant campaign purposes.”

“His campaign needs to return the township’s money immediately,” Sharry continued. “This kind of abuse of power should be illegal. If he wasn’t campaigning with the mailer, why was it on his campaign Facebook page? He clearly campaigned with a mailer paid for with our tax dollars.”
