Ex-Attorney General Kathleen Kane To Be Jailed Thursday Morning
Today, Montgomery County Judge Wendy Demchick-Alloy ordered former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane to report to jail Thursday morning by 9 a.m. to begin her 10-23 month sentence, the Inquirer reports.
Kane was convicted and sentenced on perjury and other charges in 2016 relating to abusing power of the AG office in an attempt to smear former state prosecutor Frank Fina, a political enemy. She resigned from her position as AG after her conviction, according to the AP.
Kane was free on bail while she appealed the case.
Yesterday, the state Supreme Court refused to hear her appeal.
PA Supreme Court declines to hear the appeal of former Attorney General Kathleen Kane. We will file a motion to revoke bail tomorrow as she no longer has a legal right to bail pending appeal.
