BREAKING: Kane Found Guilty

Kane-MugshotAttorney General Kathleen Kane has been declared guilty.

The jury of six men and six women only took a four and a half hours to deliberate before reaching a verdict.

The Attorney General was found guilty on all nine counts, two counts of perjury as well as seven misdemeanors.

Her trial began last week and was highlighted by testimony from ex-First Deputy AG Bruce Beemer, former aide Adrian King and political consultant Josh Morrow.

The prosecution and defense both rested their cases on Friday. Closing arguments were made this morning.

You can read our comprehensive timeline of the Kathleen Kane saga here.

Kane does not have to resign until sentencing, which could be up to 90 days away. The judge also apparently warned her against any retaliatory measures.

The judge is also ordering Kane to surrender her passport, citing her trip to Haiti in 2014.

Kane’s sentencing hearing is set for Monday, October 24th.

We’ll have more on this story as it develops.

  1. HaHaHa: PPA's Baghdad Bob says:

Montco, the Commonwealth Attorneys Act says that the First Deputy automatically becomes the AG in this situation. Wolf could appoint someone, but why would he for the remaining months of this year?

And why are you so excited about Shapiro, a guy with far less experience than even Kathleen Kane? Political ambition, which is all that Shapiro lives for, is what got us into this mess. Not to mention the amazing number of corrupt Democrats in this state.

  2. Montco PA Dem says:

So if Kane does step down, would Wolf actually appoint Castor to finish out the year? If so, how damn ironic would that be? Who’d have bet that Castor would be AG before Shapiro?

  3. bungy says:

Fake bungy at 7:31. I snorted so much BIKER CRANK last night I’m on My 731st VICTORY LAP. This is FUN.

  4. PPA's $10 Dikkk Sucker says:

Fina can’t even afford me anymore. He’s out of work now. And his lawsuit got tossed. Maybe I’ll give him a freebie!!

  5. HaHaHa: PPA's Baghdad Bob says:

lolololololololol, there’s our buddy HaHaHa, licking his wounds by coming up with fake names and lashing out. Poor HaHaHa/Pat Unger. And Frank Fina is laughing at you.

  6. PPA's $10 Dikkk Sucker says:

    Go Trump !!!!!!!!

  7. HaHaHa: PPA's Baghdad Bob says:

SpongeRobert/HaHaHa: Damn right, more corrupt Democrats in PA. What a shocker.

  8. SpongeRobert says:

Wow. Aaron is gonna be right again. Seth Williams is going to jail!!

  9. Murph says:

Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!

  10. HaHaHa: PPA's Baghdad Bob says:

As usual, billypenn sums up the case very well:

    http://billypenn.com/2016/08/16/kathleen-kanes-hail-mary-appeal-selective-and-vindictive-prosecution/

In short, Kane has no leg to stand on. Similarly, HaHaHa has no leg to stand on — just a little nub that all the girls laugh at.

  11. sklaroff's poor wife says:

Lock him up!! Lock him up!! Lock him up!!

  12. rsklaroff says:

    @ Murph:

She can await the outcome of any appeal while receiving 3-squares c/o the taxpayers.

  13. bungy says:

She looked hot yesterday. Much better than the dog-face I’ve been hitting lately (SpongeBob’s wife).

  14. HaHaHa: PPA's Baghdad Bob says:

Hey HaHaHa, you must really be feeling down in the dumps. You haven’t even switched your screen name 42 times to post the same tired crap about Corbett Pervs and Clown Cars. We haven’t even seen your alter ego, Pat Unger. It’s okay, buddy, you can visit your Queen in Muncy. And Fina will be laughing at you the whole time.

  15. HaHaHa: PPA's Baghdad Bob says:

Hey Murph, time to accept the reality that the rest of us live in: she’s guilty and going to prison. In order to reverse, she would have to have an appealable decision by the trial judge. What decision would she appeal? The decision to prohibit the introduction of completely irrelevant porn emails that would in no way excuse her deliberate leak of grand jury materials, let alone her lying about it all under oath? Yeah, good luck with that pipe dream.

  16. Murph says:

She will never get locked up. This conviction will be reversed.

  17. Politico PA says:

HaHaHa. Aka FaFaFelon. Brett Now you and Kathleen Kane have something in common A Felony Conviction…..

  18. rsklaroff says:

    @ Kent:

I disagree that “Everyone needs to take their lumps and move on.”

Sentencing must be HARSH, for she abused her trusted-position; her “loyal” supporters must ATONE, for they perpetuated her vile narrative.

Yeah, I’m talkin’ to you, d4!

  19. Kent says:

    David Diano,

I’ve been following your comments for years now after finding someone who disliked Joe Sestak as much as I did. I appreciate your fight and stubbornness, but you’re on the wrong side on Kane.

The text messages are what sunk her as Occam’s Razor applies. The most logical explanation based on all the evidence out there (circumstantial as it is) is that she leaked the info. This is no surprise, as leaking is most definitely de rigueur in PA, but she just happened to get caught and then did the worst thing you can do, she lied about it. The cover up is always worse than the crime.

Which is a bummer, as she was actually doing her part to clean up PA, but it’s suicidal to try to clean up PA politics unless you are absolutely, 100% pristinely clean yourself. Everyone needs to take their lumps and move on.

“Sure to be a passionate, independent watchdog as attorney general, KATHLEEN KANE earns The Inquirer’s endorsement.

“She was never qualified for the job. She was championed by the Idiotorial Bored solely because of her lady parts and party affiliation. If the board isn’t going to vet a slob like Kalamity Kane before endorsing, they will have to live with having their words thrown back at them.”

  21. rsklaroff says:

@ everyone else [except for those anonymous writers who have supported d4]:

A succinct update has been published.
    http://www.philly.com/philly/news/20160816_Jury__A_G__Kane_guilty_of_perjury__obstruction__all_other_charges.html

Jury: A.G. Kane guilty of perjury, obstruction, all other charges

It only took the factfinders 5 hours to nail her; I’d “predicted” they’d have drawn this conclusion by noon today, but one suspects they wanted to wrap-up by day’s/evening’s end.

    [BTW, I misspelled “whine” yesterday; was so thrilled with the snap-verdict I didn’t spell-check.}

  22. rsklaroff says:

    @ d4:

Oh Demented/Discredited one, you are continuing to demonstrate the twitching of the dying.

“Ted Cruz’s unfitness and un-Americanism (and creepiness) is the opinion of the vast majority in this country. Cruz got 7,637,262 votes (less than 3% of the adult population).” [He had the second-largest group of GOP delegates and, thus, should supplant The Donald ASAP; the outcome would be refreshing.]

“Give me Fina’s phone records and taped calls, and similar information for everyone else involved and let me hold a grand jury hearing and put them under oath… so I can get the evidence that no one else even bothered to look at, or investigate the leaks of their own grand jury about leaks.” [You lacked them all these years, but that didn’t stop you from spinning-tales you couldn’t prove.]

“Somebody leaked the sting operation. Somebody leaked the grand jury against Kane. But, all we get is a big old shoulder-shrug from hypocrites like you. No surprise.” [And it seems you’ll never have your tangential theories honored.]

Consider this the additional “victory lap” requested that I provide you, c/o of “Unsanctioned R.”

  23. ERock1981 says:

Kane convicted but FBI/Congress can’t nail Hillary Clinton to the wall for her transgressions on Benghazi/National Security?? Smh

  24. Jakesmom says:

Someone said that Kane will be the biggest train wreck in Pennsylvania politics? Not bigger than Republican Budd Dwyer! Coward shooting himself on tv!

  25. Bob Weigel says:

Ok why did someone go off on Ted Cruz here? lol. Is the answer to everything “ted cruz” still? lol. Falsely accused every time I checked. Anyway kick them all out and I bet Ted would agree. Ted would I’m sure sacrifice his own career to get all the whacky people sold out to the agenda of the globalists OUT!

Anyway 100% of the people in the democrat party surely know the corrupt/racist history. How would anyone get affiliated with that if they weren’t EITHER a useful idiot or totally corrupt?

  26. Unsanctioned R says:

Dr., take another VICTORY LAP with me.

  27. David Diano says:

  28. HaHaHa says:

For the movie, they might not be able to find an actor skinny and ugly enough to play Frank Fina.

Any number of beautiful actresses could play Kane. Maybe Julia Roberts.

  29. SHE WAS FRAMED says:

Katniss Kane will win on appeal and get everything back that these crooks took away from her Katniss is my Shero for bringing down many Corrupt Powerful People and for exposing the system for the Racist System it is From the Beat COP all the way up to State Supreme Courts Justices to even Federal Prosecutors and many Lawyers in between . 30. rsklaroff says:

    @ d4:

Oh Demented/Discredited one, you are beginning to demonstrate the twitching of the dying.

“You thought (and still think) that Cruz is a great guy. You have no credibility.” [only your opinion which, per the above, is weightless]

“If she wasn’t targeted by Fina, then whom was she seeing ‘revenge’ against? Duh.” [you still can’t prove your theories, after all these years]

“But, the judge didn’t allow that line of argument, which could have brought Fina to the stand and revealed/questioned under oath his own history of leaks and ex-parte communications with those who brought this case against Kane.” [your wining is tiresome and unproductive]

*Charcoal-broiled, dead-meat*..and we’ll never stop reminding you of it!

  31. Unsanctioned R says:

It’ll make a great movie (and better book).

  32. Unsanctioned R says:

I’m calling for the heads of the little fish. Rule of law. Kane got what she deserved.

  33. Smokescreens can't last forever says:

Kathleen Kane will now go down in Pennsylvania history as the biggest trainwreck in statewide politics.

  34. Kane's Sister says:

My sister was the big fish.

  35. Sunaina Rajpoot says:

Well, the strategy of presenting no defense at trial worked out well for Kane. About as well as her other strategic decisions over the past 4 years.

    SpongeBob-

I haven’t “distanced” myself from anything. I have ALWAYS maintained this this prosecution was political and illegitimate (regardless of any verdict). I STILL think the charges are trumped up bs. That hasn’t changed. Kane got railroaded.

When have ANY of you Kane haters called for the heads of the people that leaked from her grand jury?

  37. Militant Republican says:

    Exactly, PF !!!

Lock him up! Lock him up! Lock him up!

Seth Williams is next. And it will be the Feds coming for him. Hope he learns to fight a little better. He will need those skills in prison.

    Dirty Democrats.

  38. Unsanctioned R says:

    It’s still true. VICTORY LAP!

  39. bungy says:

U.R. Not the real Bungy at 11:41.

  40. Unsanctioned R says:

No, bungy, I’m not a lying piece of shit.

  41. bungy says:

You mean you didn’t “say it from the beginning” UR

  42. David Diano's Kindergarten Logic says:

Hey HaHaHa, how’s your popcorn? Does it taste like Fina jizzed in it? Because he did.

  43. Unsanctioned R says:

I’ll admit, and anyone can go back and check, I did not “know it” until she dropped the Philly corruption investigation.

  44. Knew it says:

The minute she was mistakenly elected she had an agenda to subvert the laws on the books not to enforce them as she swore. Go to jail…

  45. Unsanctioned R says:

    I told you so.

  46. SpongeBob says:

Brett how’s that popcorn taste? Your buddy Diano is in full deflect mode distancing himself from his prior thought talk. I love these defenders of the Democrats in PA. Everywhere you turn there is corruptions and scandals and in almost every instances it’s a Dem. Why is that?

  47. Unsanctioned R says:

    Liar.

  48. HaHaHa says:

As I said from the beginning – if she illegally leaked protected information, I hope she goes to jail.
