Scaringi Backs DeMint Filibuster

Senate candidate Marc Scaringi is backing Senator Jim DeMint’s filibuster threat over the upcoming debt limit vote. DeMint has threatened to filibuster any such measure unless it is accompanied by a balanced budget amendment.

Public Policy Polling: Casey has weak approvals but large leads

Is Bob Casey vulnerable for reelection? Our newest Pennsylvania poll provides data you can use to argue it either way. On one hand he has weak approval numbers- only 39% of voters approve of the job he’s doing to 35% who disapprove- you can certainly get defeated with those kinds of numbers. On the other hand he leads seven potential opponents for next year that we tested against him by anywhere from 12 to 23 points- you’ll pretty much never get defeated with those kinds of numbers.

Casey Camp Hits Back Against NRSC, WSJ Editorial

Republican attacks against Senator Bob Casey’s record on energy are inaccurate and misleading, according to a spokesman for the Senator.

Deputy Chief of Staff Larry Smar told PoliticsPA, “Senator Casey thinks that greenhouse gas emissions pose threats to public health and the environment, but he wants to be sure that the concerns of manufacturing states like Pennsylvania are addressed — especially during an economic recovery.”

Exclusive: GOP Recruits Potted Plant to Challenge Casey in 2012

PoliticsPA has just learned that party officials and National Republican Senatorial Committee representatives have successfully recruited a Montgomery County rhododendron to challenge first-term Senator Bob Casey. “This plant knows what it takes to grow in a tough economy, without government subsidies or bale-outs,” said Rob Gleason.
