PA-8: Naughton Releases First TV Ad (VIDEO)

In 2014, Naughton ran for the Democratic nomination in PA-8.

Her campaign didn’t have enough funds to run TV ads and her opponent made a major buy. She lost by just 817 votes.

Naughton obviously doesn’t want history to repeat itself in her battle with State Rep. Steve Santarsiero.

As a result, she is releasing a thirty-second spot this week titled “Our Families”. This commercial will run through the April 26th primary and air on Philadelphia broadcast and cable TV. It begins by mentioning Naughton’s background as a chemist.

“As a scientist, I know that there is more that Washington can do to help families,” she states. “I’m running for Congress to protect Planned Parenthood funding, so more women get cancer screening and treatment.”

She also emphasizes her call to ban fracking in the Delaware River basin and pledges to protect Social Security and Medicare.

Naughton is running to replace retiring Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick’s younger brother Brian is the favorite to be the next GOP nominee.

The 8th Congressional District consists of all of Bucks County as well as part of upper Montgomery County.

  1. If she’s so interested in banning fracking in a portion of Pennsylvania, shouldn’t she run for state rep? Does she really expect Congress to take up this issue? Or maybe this “scientist-printer” doesn’t really understand how government works and couldn’t find Bucks County with 2 hands and a map.
